Water Filtration Plant

What is filtration?

Filtration is separating solids from liquids by adding a medium through which only the liquid can pass.

Examples are:

  1.  oil
  2.  air
  3.  pool
  4. water

Materials

1.funnel
2.fiten paper
3.container
4.dirty water
5.sand
6.cup
7.little rocks
8.science

Process - ( use verbs or doing words in each step )

Step 1

Cut the bottle.....cut the bottle into half and waiting to use

Step 2

Put the top half upside down ....... put the top half upside down into the other half.

STEP 3

Add layers of... first, add layers of sand, then add some of the little rocks upon the sand (use a cup to do this.)

STEP 4

Get 1 cup of dirty water .......get 1cup dirty that from your garden then put some grass or some dirty thing into the cup
STEP 5
Pour the dirty water into ...... pour the dirty water into the half bottle that you have put sand and little rocks in.

Findings

Write a short sentence about the water every 1 minute.
Include 'How much water has filtered through', 'How fast it is dripping through', and 'How clear the water is'.

Minutes                          1.                         2.                   3.                    4.                       5.
Drops per minute:1.at the first minute it was going fast.2.but at the second minute it was going slowly.3.At the third minute, the water was much slower than last time and also is a little more clear.4. At the fourth minute then water was much more clear than last time.5. At the five minutes, the water was going slower than last time, it was like 10 seconds, then come out one point water.
Water color: The color of the water was like orange.also it is not clear.
Conclusion: filtration is like oil, pool, water, and air. it was going fast when you put the water in the bottle, but then the water was slowly come out of the half bottle.
