Aim: To learn about a saturated solution and how to make crystals
Definition of the solution
A liquid mixture, when something is dissolved into a liquid (eg: sugar in water)

Definition of saturated
Having or holding as much as can be absorbed of something (when no more sugar or borax can be dissolved into the water)

In groups of three you will make three different types of crystals and compare the results.

Image result for borax crystals

Ratio; 3 Tablespoons Borax per 1/2 cup water

Materials

1)borax
2)cup
3)pen
4) water
5) stick
6) peg
7) pimp cleaners

Process

Step 1: get a cup and stick
Step 2: get a pan
Step 3: writ sugar, salt, borax on each cups
Step 4: put hot water in the borax cup
Step 5: put borax in the cup and mix with warm water.
step 6  use peg to tilt the pimp cleaners to a star then use the peg to tit the pimp cleaners
Sugar Crystals

Grow your own Sugar Crystals

Ratio: 1 cup sugar to 1/2 cup water

Materials

1)sugar
2)cup
3)pen
4) water
5) stick

Process

Step 1: get a cup and a stick
Step 2: get a pan
Step 3: write sugar on
Step 4: put warm water in the cup
Step 5: put 6 sugar in the cup
Step 6: use the stick  to mix the warm water with sugar
step 7: put wool on the stick then put one the cup.

2)cup
3)pen
4) water
5) stick
6)wool

Process

Step 1: get a cup and a stick
Step 2: get a pan
Step 3: write salt on
Step 4:  put warm water in the cup
Step 5:  put 2 spoon salt in the cup
Step 6: put wool on the stick then put on the cup

What crystals worked out best and why?:
borax crystal is the best crystal because it was bigger and also is so fun.

Conclusion:
Making crystal was so fun because you can see what going on when you finding the crystal. also making crystal was need some time to see the crystal.

Explain how the following crystals are formed:

Type
Explanation
Salt
Image result for salt crystal
when the water evaporates from the solution, then the Na and Ci bond together,  then the molecules from the water evaporates bond together, every time when the molecule forms, the shape of the molecule are the same.

Sugar

when the water evaporates, then the solution becomes saturated and sugar, then molecules will keep come out of the solution and also collect on the seed crystals on the string, the rock candy crystals grow molecule by molecule.

Snowflakes

when the cold water droplets freeze on pollen or dust particles in the sky then snowflakes begin to form when extremely, snowflakes  have six arms.
